After 11 fairly hectic days on dry land we’re back afloat.
We left Chester on Wednesday 29 June in convoy with Laura and the children and we had six days at home together seeing friends and family, before Laura headed home on Tuesday. We followed on Wednesday afternoon and had one night on her sofa before we headed to Worcestershire to stay with friends there who thoroughly spoilt us.
They took us to Ludlow on Friday and we had a fun time exploring the town with its many Tudor and Georgian buildings, its market, the highways and byways, before having a late lunch at the riverside Green Cafe . Thankfully we’d booked a table as otherwise we wouldn’t have got in as it was very popular and, having tasted the food, we could see why.
Ludlow is a town that we’d like to revisit sometime soon.
We returned to Chester this morning and after battling our way through the Race traffic we made it back to Taylors boatyard. We inspected our bent propellor in more detail, and paid our bill before reversing the boat out of the dock and mooring up in the basin. We then headed to the shops to stock up with food.
