We both took Max for his exercise this morning and enjoyed a brisk walk round the fields. The wind had dropped a bit and it wasn’t raining either. It was noticeably drier underfoot after the recent strong winds. We picked up quite a lot of blown about plastic while we were out – it’s amazing how far it can fly!
After breakfast I sat down to hand sew the binding to the quilt backing – the final stage! I’d finished by lunchtime and I was quite pleased with how it turned out. While I was busy doing this, Storm was pottering about outside and in-between he was keeping me well supplied with cups of coffee. He was keen to show me that he’d fixed our light sensor to a pole and stained it black as well as giving our plank another coat while he had the brush out. Very smart!
We headed off mid afternoon to shop for tea and then picked up Summer from nursery and then on to Laura & Marc’s. Storm played with her while I prepared the meal. I’d received a special request for toad in the hole and lemon layer pudding.
Laura arrived home at about 5pm after a busy day of saving lives! Marc is away on business and so it is nice that we are able to help out.
