Monday 7 December

While I was at the Docs last week for my regular check up  I picked up an unwanted germ.   I haven’t been poorly but I lost my voice and have spent the weekend squeaking at everyone.    Chatting with our friends on Saturday night when we joined them for a meal at our local Thai wasn’t easy and I hope I haven’t infected anyone with whatever it was.

Anyway the good news today is that the blood test results have come back and all is well – I don’t need to take any remedial medication.  This is encouraging and proves that the new healthier diet is paying dividends as my cholesterol levels had caused some concern previously.

    • I’m getting my voice back slowly – it’s now a bit deeper than usual. All the staff I saw were well and jolly, as well they should have been because the show was great. review summed it up so much better than I could.

Your crocheting looks very impressive. Have you known how to do this for a while? I’m trying to teach myself as I’m finding knitting too painful.

  1. Crocheting is new to me. Sewing my 3D patchwork stars was hard work with crooked fingers so I’m sadly still two short for this Christmas. I’d seen some large crocheting, so invested in a 12mm needle and had a go. This I found a lot easier with my fingers and meant I could make something. We now have a kindling basket instead of a battered cardboard box. I then had a go with a smaller hook, then progressed to smaller, this I have had to pad out somewhat to help with my grip. With Knitting my right hand had to do lots of gripping and twisting which with crocheting is done with my left hand, so easier for me to achieve at the moment. Have to say I’m a bit addicted. Still a beginner but the internet is very useful.
