Wednesday 18 November

A sunny and still morning was a nice surprise.  We left Norbury mid morning and hoped that last night’s gale hadn’t brought down any trees to block the canal.  As we headed through Grub Street Cutting the CRT workmen were out  clearing fallen trees and branches.

As we motored, the weather changed and the wind got back up again and it started to rain.  At one point we were struggling to keep the boat moving in a straight line and we pulled in for a while to see if the weather improved.  After lunch we set off again as the wind speed had reduced and we continued on along Shebdon Embankment, past Goldstone Wharf and into Woodseaves Cutting, finally pulling in at Tyrley Wharf where we stopped for the night.

Wind and rain one moment and ...

Boiling water
