Tuesday 10 June

Our reversing skills were put to the test this morning as we backed up about 200ft in the wind to the entrance of Welton Hythe Marina. We were visiting Nicki there to order some waterproof cushions for our locker tops. After agreeing fabric, colour  and taking patterns of the tops we set off for Braunston. “The Wasp” continued its journey through Braunston Tunnel and then on through Braunston Locks.                                                                                            IMG_1162  IMG_1159

We stopped in Braunston for the afternoon as the other half of The Wasp had an appointment with a man there and once business was completed we continued on together to the top of Hillmorton Locks on the outskirts of Rugby.  It was a lovely  sunny evening cruise spoilt only by a cloudburst just as we were mooring up. After dinner together we said “A Bientot” to Pip and Mick and wished them a good journey. We hope to meet up again later in the year as we both continue our travels.

  1. Thank you both so much for last night, it was a lovely evening. Really enjoyed the last few days and hope to be able to team up again later in the year. Hope we didn’t wake you this morning, the sun woke us just gone 5am, so we managed an early start. See you soon. xxx
