We travelled into Birmingham along Telford’s Birmingham Level Main Line canal, built in 1880 which runs in a straight line, parallel to Brindley’s more winding Wolverhampton Level canal for most of the way. 8 miles and 3 locks from Tipton into Gas Street. Brilliant sunshine again this morning for most of the way. We moored up next to the NIA at 1pm.
We were delighted to welcome family aboard later in the afternoon, and they brought gifts and dinner and our future entertainment. It was good to catch up.
